Quotes

"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back."Don't be afraid that your life will end, Be afraid that it will never begin."

"For a kiss to be really good, you want it to mean something. You want it to be with someone you can't get out of your head, so that when your lips finally touch you feel it everywhere. A kiss so hot and so deep you never want to come up for air. You can't cheat your first kiss. Trust me, you don't want to. Cause when you find that right person for a first kiss, it's everything."

"i love you in a really, really big pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. so pick me choose me love me."

"There's something to be said about a glass half full. About knowing when to say when. I think it's a floating line. A barometer of need and desire. It's entirely up to the individual. And depends on what's being poured. Sometimes all we want is a taste. Other times there's no such thing as enough, the glass is bottomless. And all we want, is more"

"You never know when you're making a memory"

"There are two dilemmas that rattle the human skull: How do you hang on to someone who won't stay? And how do you get rid of someone who won't go?"

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take"

"When it comes to winning you need the skill and the will"

My Awesome Birthday Week

On Wednesday July 11th, I finally turned 19 years old. In celebration of my birthday I went out to dinner at SwissChalet with my mom, step-dad and sister. After dinner I went to my friend Danni's house where we had a few drinks. After having those drinks we went to the bar that is pretty much right outside Danni's apartment. We had a couple drinks and played a few games of pool. The bartender gave me a free shot for my birthday. It was some sort of creamsicle shot. It was really good. On Friday I went out to dinner at Boston Pizza with some friends. We went to Boston Pizza because my friend Jamie works there. Friday was also my friend Carolynn's 19th birthday, so we celebrated together. It was my first time going to Boston Pizza and I really enjoyed it. Great food. My first drink was a Blue Martini in a fish bowl. My second drink was the best thing I have ever tasted. It was called a Strawberry-Banana Rapture. YUM. It was a lot of fun. On Saturday night, I went downtown to my friend Toni's apartment. After having some drinks there we all made our way over to The Plaza where Toni and I had our pictures taken with one of the strippers. She was cool. When she first came out she was wearing a clown costume and had balloons in her boobs and butt. It was actually quite entertaining. After leaving The Plaza, we went over to Stages where we met up with some more friends. We left for a few minutes and came back to find fire trucks and an ambulance in front of Stages. Turns out a girl fell off the stage and cracked her head open. I am glad I was not there for that. After Stages we went back to another friends house. I had so much fun. I would definitely say that I celebrated my birthday well. I am still so excited about being 19.

SUCCESS!

So last Saturday night, my friends and I through my other friend, Danni, a surprise party for her 20th birthday. We have tried to so the surprise party thing many times in the past, but it has never worked out. Finally, we had a success. She was sooooo surprised:P. It was awesome. We had dinner and cake at McGinnis, followed by drinks at Danni's apartment. The cake was homemade by Jodi and Tiara. My sister and Nikki also came. It was a little short notice so it was hard to get everyone together. But we had fun the six of us.While having our drinks, we played Dance Dance Revolution, on PS2. I suck, but it is so much fun. Danni is awesome at it, due to months of practice. It was a pretty great night. We recorded lots of videos including singing follow the yellow brick road with the helium from the balloons.:P We lost one of the balloons on the way out of the restaurant.:P Good times. I really hope that she had fun. I know I did.

WTF?

I was so happy at the end of Canada's Next Top Model tonight. The two girls that I just can't stand were in the final two. So that meant that at least one of them was going home. WRONG! For the first time in like Top Model history, they kept both girls. I was outraged. I can't believe this. Anyways, I am still mad about it. I still have to look at both their faces next week.

Hockey Fan Application

I am so happy. Facebook has added a hockey application. With this application you can support your favourite team as well as favourite players. It even has the latest news regarding your favourite team. Being the biggest Sens fan in the world, this excites me. I also love the GO SENS GO application, which was introduced during the playoffs. This application just allows you to have your team logo on your profile, which is pretty damn cool in itself. Anyways, I am so impressed by all of the new features on Facebook. Hopefully new and exciting things continue to come.

1 More Week

I am soooo excited:D Just one more week until my BIRTHDAY! YAY! Finally 19 years old. It's about time. Lots of fun for 1 week from today.

1-800-OK-Cable

Anyone ever seen the cable commercial that features a REALLY annoying girl singing an even more annoying song? Well this commercial drives me nuts. It has to be the worst commercial ever made. I do not see how anyone would think that this would draw in customers. If anything, it is scaring them away. I think it is for Time Warner Cable or something.

My Day With Kayden

Yesterday I spent the day with my sister and my favourite person in the world, our friends son Kayden. I love this kid more than anything. He is an amazing kid. Not only is he beautiful but wow is he ever smart. At age 2, you can actually have a conversation with him. It's amazing. He can even count to 10 in Spanish. Pretty amazing eh. Well I miss him already. I can't wait to see him again.

Pain By Three Days Grace

My new favourite song is by Three Days Grace. The song is called Pain. It is a pretty awesome song. I like most of Three Days Grace's music, so I am not to surprised that I like this song so much.
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

You're sick of feeling numb
You're not the only one
I'll take you by the hand
And I'll show you a world that you can understand
This life is filled with hurt
When happiness doesn't work
Trust me and take my hand
When the lights go out you will understand

Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Anger and agony
Are better than misery
Trust me I've got a plan
When the lights go off you will understand

Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing
Rather feel pain

I know (I know I know I know I know)
That you're wounded
You know (You know you know you know you know)
That I'm here to save you
You know (You know you know you know you know)
I'm always here for you
I know (I know I know I know I know)
That you'll thank me later

Pain, without love
Pain, can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Rather feel pain than nothing at all
Rather feel pain

The Cross Dresser

So the other day I was at work when a cross dresser walked by me. Not that I have a problem with cross dressers, I was just shocked to see one in Kingston, because I never have before. He or she :S was wearing a short blue dress, leather jacket and some killer heals that I would never dream of walking in. It became a big thing at my work. Everyone who seen him/her was talking about it, and those who didn't wished they had.

The Off-Season Sucks

I miss hockey sooo much already and there is still over three months until it starts again. I'm in denial. I guess I can't really complain considering I got to watch my team until the end. Although.......:( :P

Isn't That Song A Little Old?

So I am currently watching The Ellen Degeneres Show, which just happens to be my favourite talk show by far. I actually don't watch many talk shows, but when I do, it is either Ellen or Regis and Kelly. I love love love Ellen and Kelly. Anyways, point to my post, as I was watching Ellen, Bon Jovi was performing a song. The song just happened to be "It's My Life". I'm sure anyone reading this has heard that song, probably a million times, since it came out like at least five years ago. I remember listening to that song in public school. I just found that odd, since I know they have had more recent songs. I guess this could be because their more recent songs were not as successful as "It's My Life". Anyways, before I end this blog, just a little more love for my two favourite ladies in the talk show industry, Ellen Degenered and Kelly Ripa. P.S. Kelly Ripa also stars in a hilarious sitcom called Hope and Faith. For anyone who has not seen it, YOU SHOULD! it is great.

Surprise

I am soooooooooo excited:). On Saturday, me and a few friends of mine are throwing my best friend in the world a surprise party. See, my friend Danni's 20th birthday was last week. She went camping with a couple of friends, but there were so many of us that could not make it due to work:(.....So to make up for it we are celebrating her birthday all over again this weekend at McGinnis restaurant. We thought that would be the best place because one of the girls helping me plan the party works there. So after I get off of work on Saturday at 6:30p.m., I am going to go straight to Danni's house. We will get ready there while the other girls prepare at the restaurant. At 8:15 we will make our way to the restaurant, where a surprise will be waiting for Danni. I was a little worried that she might say she wants to go somewhere else for dinner, so I have decided to tell her that I have a gift certificate for McGinnis. I really hope everything goes perfect.

From Miss Teen U.S.A. To Daytime Television

Just something weird that I just noticed. I just came across a picture of last years Miss Teen U.S.A.. Turns out she now plays Stephanie on one of the soaps I watch, Days of our Lives. She has completely changed the character of Stephanie, but I think I like this one better. She is a little easier to believe as a person. Seems more like your typical young women just entering adulthood. I for sure like her acting far more than I liked the actress who played Stephanie. Hopefully she will be around for a while. Well I just thought it was weird. Not something I knew.

Two Weeks Til The Big Day

YAY! My 19th Birthday is only two weeks away! I am so excited! I can finally drink....legally that is:):P Birthday's are always fun! And after all, they 0nly come once a year, so might better enjoy it!

Even More On Canada's Next Top Model vs America's Next Top Model

As I was yet again watching Canada's Next Top Model tonight, I notice something that really disturbed me. These judges are far more judgemental than the judges on America's Next Top Model. On America's Next Top Model, they were promoting plus size models and you really didn't hear them talk as much about the girls bodies as much as you did their modeling talents. I was shocked to hear the judges on Canada's Next Top Model basically finding every little flaw in all of the girls and saying that these flaws are such a huge problem. Some of the things the judges were saying tonight were "she doesn't have a top model body", or "her legs are too short". Could you imagine, making it that far and they tell you, "oops sorry, you don't have long enough legs." I was already bothered that after America's Next Top Model took a stand and put to beautiful plus size models on the show, that Canada's Next Top Model did not follow the trend. For once, a trend worth following. Anyways, I guess each show has their pros and cons. Both shows are still awesome. GO CORII!!!!

September 10th 2005

This picture was taken at my mom and step father's wedding on September 10th 2005. My friend is looking at the ring my step-father gave to me during the ceremony:). He also gave my sister one.

I HATE Y&R's Latest Story Line.

So the latest story line on daytime's Young & The Restless is about everyone thinking that Nick Newman has died in a tragic plane crash. When Nick is found alive he is eventually brought back to Genowa City. When he wakes up in his hospital bed, his new wife, and mother of his baby girl, Phyllis is waiting for him. He sees Phyllis and tells her to leave and calls her by the last name she had before they were married. He then asks where his wife is. When she tells him that she is his wife, he says no where is Sharon. Sharon was Nick's wife before Phyllis and the mother of his son Noah. The also had a teenage daughter who died while he was still married to Sharon. So it turns out Nick thinks that their teenage daughter Cassie, is still alive. He has lost all memory of everything that happened since Cassie was in a car accident that ultimately killed her. I hate this so much. Phyllis is one of my favourite characters on all soaps, and by far my favourite on Young & The Restless. And I am not such a big fan of Sharon. Nick better get his memory back soon. He has a baby girl to take care of. I don't know why I didn't see this one coming.

Isn't That Cute?

I love this picture of Emery and Volchenkov. It was taken right after they became the Eastern Conference Champions.

Rally Caps

This picture was taken during game #3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, which just happend to be the only game the Sens did win of the series. It was a fun night!

13 Going On 30

13 Going on 30 is one of my favourite "chick flicks". I love it so much. I have seen this movie at least 10 times, and would watch it again anytime. I am not even sure what it is that makes me like this movie so much, but I am in love with it. The movie is about a 13 year old girl who at her birthday wishes she was 30. When she wakes up in the morning in her New York City apartment 30 years old, the last thing she can remember is sitting in her closet at her parents house on her 13th birthday, uttering the words "Thirty, Flirty and Thriving". At 30, Garners character, Jenna, was a success, working for a huge magazine and a NHL star for a boyfriend. Working at the magazine with her was the head girl in the popular clique. They had remained best friends since they wete in jr. high school. She was all of the things she always wanted to be and worse. She had turned into a horrible person. She goes to the apartment of her old bestfriend Matty, played by Mark Ruffalo, after calling his parents to find out how she could find him. Matty looks at her in confusment and tells her that they have not been friends since the day of her 13th birthday party when she through his present at him and never talked to him again. Jenna had stopped being Matty's friend and began hanging out with the popular girls. She had no idea how this all happened, all she knew is that she did not like the person she became. Matty and Jenna become close through out the movie and after a series of events fall in love with each other. There was only one problem, Matty was engaged. At the end of the movie, Matty goes off to marry his fiance out of obligation and the fact that Jenna had hurt him so bad all those years ago. After confessing her love to him and being shot down, Jenna sits alone and closes her eyes. When she opens them, she is once again sitting in the closet at her parents home at the age of 13. She smiles and opens the closet where she finds Matty standing and she jumps on him and kisses him. She than blows off the group off popular girls, and makes it sure that she will never have a friendship with them. I love that they made it so that Matty stayed a good guy by following through with his wedding. I also like that Jenna was able to live her life. It would be sad to not have any memories from the age of 13 to 30. The very end of the movie shows Matty and Jenna getting married as adults. Garner was so cute in this movie. My favourite part of the movie is where they do the dance from the Thriller video by Michael Jackson at the party for the magazine that Jenna worked for called Poise. I love her co-star too. Very talented. He is quite the looker:P. I am so surprised and disappointed in how many people I know that have never seen this movie. In fact, I do not know many that have. I actually seen it by chance. It was on the movie network after another movie I was watching, and I started to get into it, so I kept watching. I was so glad I did..I think that I may have to purchase this movie soon. It has been way to long since I have seen it.

The Things We Once Thought Were Cool

Remember when you thought scrunchies were cool? or when you loved the Spice Girls and The Backsteet Boys? Or how about that faze where you listen to nothing but rap? Well if you were anything like me, you thought those things were very cool at one time or another. Or how about those big shoes the Spice Girls wore. Wow, did I ever think those were awesome. Well times have changed, and I can't help but wonder what I was thinking. I am sure that in 10 years from now I will be laughing at myself for wearing everything from flats to polka-dots to big sunglasses. I remember thinking that polka-dots were not very cool when I was younger. Now I find them adorable. It is crazy how much time and experience can change someone. Not to mention current trends and fads.

Crocs

I have yet to buy myself a real pair of the latest fashion trend, Crocs. I really want a pair, but I am undecided on what colour and what style I would like. At first, I thought that Crocs were horrifyingly ugly. Some how, they have grown on me. I still don't think that they are that great to look at, but with a nice colour and considering how confortable they are, a little been of unattractiveness won't hurt. I am amazed at how fast this new fad developed. It was like everyone had discovered them overnight. I have never seen any advertisements for them, which makes me really wonder where this trend originated. I love that they have came up with so many new styles that are far less ugly then the original styled Crocs. The flats are my favourites but I have yet to see them in any Kingston stores.

Facebook Graffiti

My favourite new Facebook application is the graffiti wall. The graffiti wall allows you to draw pictures on your friends walls using a program that is similar to paintbrush. Here a couple examples of what can be done using the Facebook graffiti wall.
