I found it very interesting as well. I think if it had been just one commercial, or just the last commercial where they put him on the plane, I wouldn't have noticed it as much, but the mysterious commercials that started it built up a certain amount of hype for it. I didn't really love the commercial either, but I think the idea was different, and fairly successful.
Good observation on a new trend in advertising.
