When it comes to love, does age really matter?

Age of Love is NBC's latest "social experiment". It is practically The Bachelor, with a twist. The show is based around the question "When it comes to love, does age really matter?". Age of Love, like the Bachelor, is a reality show where a man gets to date and chose between a group of women. However, instead of your regular group of beautiful young women in their twenties, Age of Love has half the women in their twenties and the other half in their forties. I think this show is going to be quite like the Bachelor. But I am interested to know what will ultimately triumph, youth or maturity.

My 3rd Ottawa Senators Game:)

On March 15th, 2007, I went to my 3rd Ottawa Senators game at Scoticbank Place. Again, we took the McCoy bus tours. This time, The Sens played The New York Islanders and came out on top with again a 5-2 win. So after we had bought our tickets to the game, we learned that the great Ryan Smyth was traded to the Islanders from Edmonton. It was so awesome to get to see him. Unfortunatley he did not score one of the two Islanders goals. But oh well, he was there, and do was I:). The Sens set a franchise record that night. The scored 3 goals in less than 2 minutes. I am not sure the exact time, but it was amazing. We almost missed the second and third goals because we were still in the process of celebrating the previous goal. It was a great night, I can't wait until October.

Stewie

My favourite cartoon character is Family Guys Stewie. I absolutely love Family Guy. Nothing in the world can make ya laugh like it. The show would not be the same without the smart, evil talking baby with the football shaped head.

My 2nd Senators Game!

On December 2nd, 2006, I attended my 2nd Senators game. This one had a much better outcome. The senators won the game 5-2 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. We were sitting behind the away net, and every goal in the game was scored on it. It was great. I even got to see my favourite Lightning, Vincent Lecavalier, score a goal. Of course I would have love to see Razor get a shutout. But if there was any player on the other team I would have like to see score a goal, it would definietly be Vinny. Once again, we took a trip up on the McCoy Bus tours. Only this time there was only about 10 people going to the game on the bus, so we had a mini bus with a broken window. It was pretty crazy. The bus driver wasn't that bright, we were for sure worried about getting lost or being late for the game. But no worries, we made it, and I got to watch my first ever live Senators win.

This picture at the bottom was taken after the win. My favourite part about this pic is McGrattan's leg up in the air. Beautiful.

Desperate For a Story

So I was reading a tabloid the other day, I think it was Star or something like that. Anyways, I was reading an article featuring the three female stars from the best sitcom of all time, Friends. The article was about how apparently Lisa Kudrow(Phoebe) and Jennifer Aniston(Rachel) did not get along. The article says that Lisa Kudrow and Courtney Cox(Monica) were spotted having a meal together at a restaurant while Anistion sat at a table alone on the other side of the restaurant. It goes on to say that a source said this and a friend said that, never giving any real names. There could be a number of reasons why the girls were not sitting together. Perhaps Aniston arrived earlier and was not spotted by Kurdrow and Cox. That is just one of the many explanations for this that do not revolve around Kudrow and Aniston hating each other. Not to mention, this would make Cox quite the biotch if you ask me. To leave her best friend Aniston, sitting by herself. Seems pretty unlikely. If you ask me, this reporter was just a little too desperate for a story.

My 1st Sens Game

In March of 2006, I heard the most exciting news, my sister had bought us tickets to a Ottawa Senators game. Of course I had to pay her back for my ticket, but knowing that in less than a month I was going to get to sit in the same building as my heros. It was so awesome. The game was against the Buffalo Sabres. My sister, her friend Nikki and I took a McCoy bus trip up. There was two huge coach buses going up to the game. The game ended in an embarrassing 6-2 loss for the Senators, but still, it was one of the bests nights of my life. I will never forget the moment that the Sens came onto the ice for the warm-up and I saw them for the first time. It was priceless. Something I will no doubt remember forever.

The IPhone

The Apple Inc.'s new cell phone, the IPhone, with it's touch screen and built in media player, is expected to be the "revolutionary" says Apple Inc.'s C.E.O. Steve Jobs. This phone made me realize just how important technology has become in my life and also how crazy technology is becoming. Now I thought the Motorola Razor phone was crazy. It is nothing compared to the new IPhone which is also a IPod music player as well as having the wireless web. The Razor recorded more sales than any other phone in history, selling over 50 million phones from 2004 to 2006. The IPhone is expected to set new highs when it comes to the cellphone industry. I can't wait til I can see an IPhone. I want one so bad. Although I know I will like never be able to afford it. My biggest issue with buying a cellphone is that it seems every time I buy a cellphone, something cooler always comes out a few weeks later. Now really, it is not like anyone can always be right on top of the latest style in the cellphone world. With today's technology, well it is pretty much impossible.

Beach Day

On June 1st a bunch of my friends and I packed up and drove to Picton Beach to attend beach day. It was so much fun. With the stress of final exams and projects coming up, it was so great to spend a day in the sun relaxing with friends.

BIG BROTHER MAKES A RETURN

I began watching Big Brother years ago during the first season. I didn't watch much of the following seasons, however I watched last seasons Big Brother All stars, and became addicted to it. And I have to say I was quite pleased about the outcome. From the beginning I was rooting for Boogie and Will to make it to the final two. For anyone who watched the show, even if you hated these two guys, you have to give them credit. Although they did not both make it to the final two, they did make it to the final three and Boogie was the ulmtimate winner. For two guys who were a known alliance from day one and were brutally blunto make it to the final three. Amazing. They were the ultimate manipulators, convincing every person in the Big Brother house at one time or another that they too were a member of chilltown. I doubt this season will be quite as entertaining without the Chilltown boys, however I am looking forward to the premier on July 5th.

Cutest Kid On Television

So has anyone ever seen the television show Hope and Faith? Well for anyone who has not here is a brief description of the show: Hope and Faith is a sitcom about a soap opera actress named Faith Fairfield. After being killed off of the show she worked on, Faith moves to the suburbs to live with her sister Hope and her family in an attempt to flee the tabloids. Hope is married with three children. There is the teenage daughter Sydney, the smart middle child Hailey and the youngest child, the cutest kid on television, Justin. I totally love this kid. He, like the middle child Hailey, is very smart. This kid says the cutest things and has by far the cutest face I have ever seen on the T.V. This show stars Kelly Rippa from daytime televisions, Live with Regis and Kelly. I absolutely love Kelly too. She is hilarious and so open. Well I just think that this kid is just to cute to be left unnoticed.

As The World Turns

At the Day Time Emmy's this year, I felt that my all time favourite soap opera, As The World Turns, did not receive the kind of love, respect and recognition I thought that they deserved. Now I have watch probably every soap at one time or another and religiously watch a number of them, and As The World Turns by far is the most creative, original and best written soap on the television. Unlike many soaps like Days of Our Lives, One Life To Live and Passions, the actors on As The World Turns can actually act. I don't even think it is the actors faults the probably all can act but it doesn't seem to appear that way on these shows. I'm not saying anything bad about these shows, in fact I am watching Days of Our Lives right now and it is one of the soaps I watch everyday. Thanks to satellite and time shifting or whatever it is called, I am able to watch my soaps after school on most days. Recently a former Days Of Our Lives star moved over to CBS and joined the cast of As The World Turns. It was like a complete turn around. He could act really well and didn't say all of the cheesy things that he had to say on his former show. Well I just feel that they should have gotten a little bit more love at the awards. However my favourite actress on the show, Maura West(Carly) won an award. I was pretty happy about that considering she beat out some other great actresses like Kim Zimmer(Reva on Guiding Light), the woman who plays Catherine on Y&R, and the woman who plays my favourite character on Y&R, the character of Phyllis. But oh well:P just my opinion. Any soap opera watchers out there? Let me know what your favourite show is.

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY

I would just like to wish my bestest friend in the whole world a HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY. Happy B-day Danni! Love you. xoxo

NEW G.M.

A few days ago, Ottawa Senators General Manager, John Muckler was fired. Replacing him is last years Head Coach, Bryan Murray. I am excited and nervous to see what Murray will do with the team during the off season. I am also very interested in finding out who will be replacing Murray as the Sens new Head Coach. Updates soon to come.

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER!

YAY. I am super happy. School is finally over. At about 10:00a.m. I finished my final exam which was in Media Studies. I have to say it feels damn good to have two months to relax and enjoy the nice weather. Oh ya and work:S. And my birthday is this summer so I am looking forward to that. The big 19. Bar time:P. I can't wait. One plan I have for the summer is to head up to Wonderland and maybe do a little shopping in Toronto. I miss Wonderland. It has been way to long:P. Well, the semester went pretty quick and was fairly fun in regards to classes. Well I will miss Ernestown, I guess:P in some ways. I will definitely miss you MzQbit. You are for sure one of my favourite teachers. Have a great summer. Well I just had to spread my excitement.

TRIP TO OTTAWA! Stanley Cup Finals Game #4

On June 4th I went on a road trip to Ottawa with some friends to support our heroes. We went and watched the game on the big screen outside of Scotiabank Place in the rain. It sucked that it was raining but it was a lot of fun. We got taped by a camera man singing Raise a Little Hell by Trooper. He asked us to sing that song because Trooper was performing outside there that night for the Sens fans. So one of the people who came with us on the trip is from the Ottawa area and just happen to know someone at the game and it turns out we were shown singing on the jumbo tron (however you spell that) inside. I'm glad I didn't know anyone at the game:P. We also got our picture taken by a newspaper photographer and got to stand in line behind Vermette's dad on mission into the beer tent for shelter. So it was a disappointing loss that night followed by the ultimate disappointment only two days later. On our way to Ottawa we got hungry so we decided to stop in a town called Kemptville for something to eat. We ended up getting lost. There was a bunch of construction and detours which didn't help the situation. For anyone who is from or has ever been to Kemptville you are probably laughing right now, because it is not a very big town. The photo above was taken in Kemptville. It was a great town. There were GO SENS GO signs everywhere from McDonald's signs to gingerbread cookies at Tim Horton's. We even got a discount on our meals at McDonald's because we were wearing our Sens gear. After the game we went to have dinner at a restaurant called Jack Astor's. Let's just say I was not impressed with that restaurant at all. You would think spending $20.00 for a meal you would a least get a coke that wasn't flat. We spent the night in Ottawa that night and drove home in the morning. Well that about wraps up my trip to Ottawa. So I even managed to get myself onto the Senators website. Its about a millisecond of me but still:P. If you feel like checking out just go here and click on Fan in the red zone for game # 4. http://www.playoffs.ottawasenators.com/eng/
(For some reason the site seems to be down. Oh well, we WERE on the Senators website:P)

15 Year Old Boy Performs Surgery

Just a few days ago a 15 year old boy in Southern India performed a Cesarean section birth under his parents supervision. The boy did this in an attempt to make his way into the Guinness Book of World Records for being the youngest person to ever perform surgery. Instead, the boys parents may be facing charges. Granted his parents are licensed Doctors, however I doubt that there is anything in that license regarding allowing your child to perform surgery under your watch. I was so shocked to hear about this. This is insane. Surgeons go to school for years and years before they can perform surgery. It is outrageous to think someone is doing this when he has only been alive for about the same amount of time he should have to attend school in order to perform surgery. Anyways, let me know your thoughts.

More On Canada Vs America

So like America's Next Top Model, I have found myself totally addicted to Canada's Next Top Model. I almost find that I like it better. Although it is the same as America's Next Top Model, it is very different. For instance, on last nights episode they showed the girls getting drunk with a hockey team. They also seem to show the girls saying things that I highly doubt they would show on American television. So my favourite model, Cori, almost got the boot last night but just barely made it. I hope she can improve because I find her absolutely adorable. I really hope Tia is the next to go. That is one annoying girl. Even one of the judges thought so last night. She just needs to chill out and relax. These girls really make Canadian's look dramatic. Anyways, if anyone watched the show, let me know what you think.

Life

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend.
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?¿

The other night, I decided to sit down and watch Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? for the first time. I think this show is brilliant. It is a show where adult contestants must answer a series of questions at fifth grade level for a chance to win money. The host of the show is Jeff Foxworthy. I think this show is a prime example of how a lot of the things we learn in school we will not remember when we are older, and a lot of it probably won't affect our lives. Don't get me wrong, there are obviously things that we learn in school that we will take with us for the rest of our lives. I found it hilarious how many of the answers the contestants were unable to answer, and how many I was unable to answer. Anyways, I just think this is such a creative show. Such a refreshment from a lot of the lame game shows and reality T.V. shows they are putting on television these days. Just when I thought they were all out of good ideas.

Two Fantastic Authors

Tess Gerritsen is an author, and a great one if I may add. She writes crime mystery novels. I have read 4 of 6 or 7 of her books that feature the same characters. I have become totally addicted to her books and can't wait to start reading the last book. Hopefully she writes more novels with the same characters because like her books I have become addicted to them too. One of the main characters in these books is a female detective named Jane Rizzoli. She is one of those very independent and strong women but eventually in like the 3rd book falls victim to love like everyone else when she meets a FBI agent named Gabriel Dean, when she met him on a case they were forced to work on together. Although at first she did find him to be a very attractive man, she never would have pictured anything happening between them, and well she didn't even really seem to like him much at all and was very suspicious of him. After eventually falling in love with him they marry and have a daughter. In the 1st book, Jane is almost killed after an incident involving a man they called The Surgeon. I'm not really to sure on the details of that story because it just happens to be the one I have yet to read. What I do know is that she was pinned to the floor somehow and has still has scars on her hands from the attack. I am currently reading the 3rd book of the series called The Sinner. I am almost finished it and plan to begin reading The Surgeon as soon as I am finished. Other books by Gerritsen that I have read are Body Double, The Apprentice and Vanish. All great books. Another author I have grown to love is Karin Slaughter. Like Gerritsen, Slaughter writes crime mystery novels. She also has a series of books revolving around the same group of characters. And weirdly enough there is also a strong, independent lead character who is a police detective. Her character's name is Lena Adams. Now this isn't the weirdest part, Lena also survived an attack where she was raped and had her hands and feet nailed to the ground. I find this odd because both of these characters seem to look down at the scars on their hands a lot. I haven't read any books by Slaughter in months because I find that it is much harder to find her books. The two of her books that I have read are called Faithless and Kisscut. I am going to try to buy the collection of her book on ebay if I can't find them anywhere because they are that good, and I really want to read them. If anyone likes to read these kinds of books I highly recommend these two authors.

Facebook

I'm not going to sit here and explain facebook, because obviously by now everyone knows what it is all about. I just want to show my support toward it. I am pretty much addicted to it. It is not like I spend hours a day on it, but I do like to check it many times throughout the day. It has become even better lately, with new features each day, such as photo shops, slide shows, and horoscopes. Oh and not to mention the cute little Ottawa Senators application that is quite sparkly:P. That is just a very small percentage of the new features that facebook has added in the last few weeks. I just love it. Anyways, I wish all of the haters toward facebook would just drop it. I think it would be very upsetting if it were ever banned or anything like that.

Blogging

I would just like to say MzQbit, that I have really enjoyed blogging and your class in general. Probably more than any other class that I have taken throughout high school, not that it really has much good to compare to:P. I may even continue to write in my blog every once in a while after the class is over. I really hope you get to continue to teach this class next year. I doubt this class would have been that great with a different teacher. Anyways, have a great summer everyone.

Canadian Vs American

So the other night I decided I'd check out Canada's Next Top Model. I didn't really think I would like it as much as I like America's Next Top Model, considering it is lacking what made me watch it to begin with, Tyra Banks. However it is a lot better than I had intisipated. But America's Next Top Model is still a lot better. Anyways, while watching this show I found something very odd that I did not expect. These Canadian girls seem to be a lot rudder and pardon my language, but they seem to just be bitchier. On America's Next Top Model, although the girls didn't get along at times, when it came down to one of them leaving they all gave hugs and said their good-byes. Not in Canada. On last nights episode, the girl who was asked to leave gave two of the girls a hug before leaving and did not even say good-bye to the rest. And only a few episodes in, they are already on each other's backs about everything. I found this weird. Anyways, just an observation. I would really like to think that the over all population of Canadian girls are a lot nicer than this to each other. Oh and one last thought, I'm thinking at this point that I like Corii. All the power to her:P.

"How am I Supposed to Heal When I Can't Feel Time?"

Memento is one of those movies that has you still thinking about it long after you've pressed the stop button. It is more a puzzle than a movie and is one of the most original concepts for a thriller movie that I have ever seen. The movie is about a man who due to the condition he developed after being whacked over the head, wakes up each morning without any memory of his life since the day his wife was raped and murdered. It is like he can not feel time and all he knows about his present life is that he is on a mission to find the man who killed his wife. The man, Leonard, leaves notes everywhere in order to remind himself of the things his mind will no longer allow him to remember. For more important facts, he tattoos the information on to his body. He also takes pictures of people and places which he scribbles notes on the back of, in order to remember them. Because the movie went backwards, I feel like while I was watching the movie, I understood how Leonard felt because throughout each scene I had no idea where it was in the movie or what had happened before than. It was impossible to draw a conclusion about any characters until the very end because each scene brought new secrets and unexpected details about each one. I also think that this is a movie that could be watched a thousand times, only during your thousandth time to notice something that you had missed the first nine hundred and ninety nine times. I found that this was a very good movie with many unexpected and creative plot twists. The end of the movie, really being the beginning, left me with new questions which were left without answers. Which I guess in one positive aspect, leaves the movie open to anyones opinion and interpretation. In conclusion, this was a very good creative movie that may need to be watched more than once in order to feel completely satisfied.

Hounddog

Twelve year old actress Dakota Fanning recently filmed an independent movie called Hounddog last July. In this movie, which was set in the 1950's, there is a scene were Dakota Fanning who plays a nine year old, takes off her clothes and dances for a man after being lured by her best friend in order to get tickets to an Elvis concert. In the movie the man then rapes Dakota's character. I am sooooooooooo disgusted by this. Now this isn't just like you know the character was raped, there was an actual rape scene filmed. The director of the movie insists that much care would be taken to pportray this rape in a delicate manner. Others on the set said they had to leave the set because the scene was way too graphic. They also said that Dakota's mother Joy sat and watched as her daughter pretended to be raped. There were also many other scenes in the script that were unbelievably disturbing, some filmed some not. Some of these scenes include her father and a nine year old boy. I don't care if there is no nudity in this movie, this is child pornography. I am so disturbed. It's so sad that a mother would put her child through all of that in order to what make some money? Joy and Dakota's agent thought that the movie would land her an Oscar nomination. I'm not sure what kind of sick world we live in. I know it's bad, but like she would ever get an Oscar nomination for this. If anything, this could destroy her career. Dakota was seen wearing only her underpants in several scenes while filming. There were also scene where animals were killed, which apparently wasn't fake. The movie production shut down after potential investors were turned off by the shocking material and did not want to be involved with the movie, which had a budget of under $5 million. I don't know what has happened since then, but hopefully it will stay that way.

It's Over

So I am officially in a state of depression:P The Ducks won the cup:(:(:(:( Although I am very proud of the Sens for making it to the finals, I was a little disappointed in their performance throughout the finals. Well maybe next year. For now, we'll have to settle for Eastern Conference Champs. GO SENS GO!

Ice Cream..Not For Kids Anymore

Maybe it's just me, but I find the new Dairy Queen commercials are just a little bit sexual. It seems that everyhing in the media has to be about sex, and now even ice cream. But I guess "sex sells". When I think of Dairy Queen, I think of a place I used to love to go to when I was a kid. It's a little weird to me to be incorporating that with sex. There should really be a limit on what people use sex to sell. Anyways, just my opionion.

Rosie vs Elizabeth

Recently Rosie O'Donnell announced that she would make her exit from The View at the end of June 2007. Some people think Rosie was fired after she continuously spoke out about her opinions regarding George Bush, 9/11 and the was in Iraq. On May 23, 2007, Rosie and co-star Elizabeth got into a heated argument about Bush and the war in Iraq. Rosie later made an announcement saying she would not be returning to The View for her final few weeks. I find it just a little odd that Elizabeth would defend Bush to a point where she got angry and was practically yelling on national television. She is completely unwilling to listen to what anyone has to say about Bush and/or 9/11. I truly hate people like this. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but when you are unwilling to even listen to FACT, than your opionion means nothing to me. And why should it, when all she knows is what she wants to know. Another weird thing, apparently Elizabeth was recently invited to have dinner with George Bush himself at the white house. How often do ya think talk show hosts and former Survivor stars get invited to the white house? I'm thinking never. So maybe there is a little more there then we know. To watch a clip of the fight between Rosie and Elizabeth, you can watch at at this website:http://youtube.com/watch?v=7iEXvOMJL6g
